Sunday Message from Fr. Kramer - May 14, 2023

Updated: May 15, 2023

Dear family and friends of Santi Apostoli,

The other day my calendar reminded me of my confirmation. I was confirmed in New Hampshire, at a church on the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee on May 11, 2001. Do you remember when you were confirmed? Do you celebrate your confirmation anniversary?

We read in today’s first reading that though the people believed and were baptized the Holy Spirit had not yet come down on them. “(The Holy Spirit) had not come down on any of them: they had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Then they laid hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.” (Acts 8:16-17)

There is a difference between before and after the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the spirit of love. Jesus says in the Gospel “I shall ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate to be with you forever.” (John 14:16) The Holy Spirit brings love, life, freedom and happiness.

The greatest expression of the love of the Holy Spirit is a mother. Today we celebrate Mother’s Day! Let us pray for all mothers, that their hearts may be filled with the Holy Spirit! Mothers are always giving love, let us pray that their hearts may be also filled with the love of God, the love of the Holy Spirit and our love. Let us pray that they may experience being loved without limits!

The Holy Spirit has the power to change our lives. We are presently preparing for the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. Let us pray these days, “Come Holy Spirit!”

Have a great week! If you need anything, never hesitate to ask me.

God bless you and your loved ones, Fr. Kramer Cameron, LC
