Last week we spoke about gifts. Do you have your 5 gifts written down somewhere? We all have God given gifts. As we said last week, it’s so important to “know yourself”, to know your gifts.
Continuing our “AGAPE SERIES”, once we have a better knowledge of our gifts, St. Paul, in 1 Corinthians 12:12-30, emphasizes the truth that we are also a body. As our human body is one, even though it is made up of many parts, so we as a family, as a church, as a society, are a body. We share the same spirit, the Holy Spirit. We have many parts, but the same spirit.
Speaking of bodies, today, I want to focus on one specific part of the body: the mouth. With the mouth we eat, taste, drink, praise, curse, can give a kiss of love, a kiss of betrayal, we can speak, communicate, etc. What we communicate through our mouths, our words, language, logos, expresses what is in our hearts.
In a similar way, God communicates what is in his heart through the Word, who is his Son, Jesus. God, Word, Logos, Reason, Creator, the Word of God, Scripture, is an expression of the heart of God.
The only limit to the power and action of God who is all-powerful, is our freedom, is ourselves. This week, let’s open our hearts freely to God, to the Word, to Logos, by opening daily God’s Word, the Scripture, the Bible and allow his Word, the expression of his heart to transform our lives and set us free.
