Each person, from the youngest to the oldest, from the poorest to the richest, from the weakest to the strongest, from the nearest to the farthest, is in need. Who will meet that need? Who will fill that need? Only Jesus can fully fill that need. Jesus in the full sense: Jesus as fully man and fully God; Jesus as fully in this material world and as fully in the spiritual world; Jesus as the physician of the body and of the soul; Jesus as humble and powerful; Jesus as the priest and the victim; Jesus as the lover of details and of the magnanimous; Jesus as the exhalter of weakness and of justice; Jesus as the traditional and revolutionary; Jesus as the silent lamb and the roaring lion; Jesus as the weeper and the sword bearer; Jesus as the one broken under the weight of evil and the one who faced it head on with courage; Jesus as the crucified and as the risen.
It’s clear that there is a need to form future Jesuses in our world, future humans, future sharers in the divine life, future followers of Jesus, future leaders with Jesus.
